Dendrocalamus dienbienensis, shoot, propagationAbstract
Dendrocalamus dienbienensis is one of the bamboo species with large size, thick, hard and strong stem in Vietnam, it is very popular with the processing factories using products made from bamboo stem. Research on propagation by cuttings method as a basis for building technical guidelines, creating good breed, fast with large quantity to supply on large area is really necessary. The study results showed that 2 years old Dendrocalamus dienbienensis mother tree and diameter level > 12 - 20 cm had the number of most promising knar (5.43 knar/tree) and the most promising number of shoot (2.93 shoot/tree). Creating shoot by cutting the tops of 2 years old mother trees, > 12 - 20 cm in diameter will give the best number of shoot (9.0 branches/tree). For the reclining method, the number of shoot produced is also very promising at 2 years old mother tree, 6 - 12 cm (8.7 branches/tree) in diameter. Propagating shoot of Dendrocalamus dienbienensis into nilon bag using IBA stimulant at 1,000ppm concentration give the highest rooting rate (83.3%) and the best root quality
