EVALUATION THE QUALITY OF RHIZOPHORA APICULATA PLANTATION TO BE BASED FOR DETERMINATION OF SILVICULTURAL SOLUTION AND MANAGEMENT REGIME

Abstract

Can Gio mangrove protection forest is changing after 30 years of rehabilitation which should pay the
attention from silviculture technical aspect. It is very bad at growing of tree & insect situation. A lot of
trees was fall down or broken which leading to bad environment; The environmental factors such as
water quality & soil, tidal regime are changed in negative way. This paper is summary of research
result on “Evaluation the quality of Can Gio mangrove protection forest and changing of
environmental factors for basis of suggested silvicultural solution to sustainable using Can Gio
mangrove ecology”
Research results pointed that, the growing of diameter & high of trees is too bad on three kinds of site.
At plantation with over 25 year old the growing of trees is almost stopping, white insect situation and

density of tree increased with ages. The environmental factors of soil as Al
+++
, Fe
++
, sulphate are in
high concentration, specially in low site. Index of pH and DO is lower of limited index which is
suitable to living environment of aquatic species (according VN criteria: TCVN). The proposed
silviculture solution and applied results will be reported in other papers
