The results of research on some silvicultural characteristics of Altingia siamensis Craib in the forest of the Forest Management Board of Historical Relics and Environmental Landscapes of Muong Phang, Dien Bien province have shown that: (i) A. siamensis is naturally distributed in humid soil, near the lake in Pa Khoang commune, with canopy cover from 6 5 -80%, concentrated from altitude of 900 to 1,000 m above sea level, the slope is from 15 o to 19 o . (ii) Dominates in the poor and medium forest statuses with the IV% coefficient ranging from 8.7 to 16.8%. A. siamensis is recognized all 3 canopy A1, A2, A3 with a small number and the majority of trees and record many in the main canopy. Some associated species with A. siamensis included: Castanopsis tesselata Hickel & A. Camus, Engelhardtia chrysolepis Hance and Castanopsis fabri Hance, J. Bot. The majority of regenerated tree species included Altingia siamensis Craib, Castanopsis tesselata Hickel & A. Camus, Engelhardtia chrysolepis Hance, Castanopsis fabri Hance, J. Bot, Tetradium ruticarpum (A. Jussieu) T. G. Hartley. (iii) The species composition of regenerative trees in the study area is diverse with 15 -16 species. Density of regenerated A. siamensis varies from 720 to 1120 trees/ha. Most of A. siamensis trees have good regenerative quality, the number of trees derived fro m seeds ranges from 14.9 to 15.5%. Regenerating trees concentrated most at height level II (0.5 - 1 m) and height level III (1 - 2 m). The number of promising regenerated trees varies from 1.227 to 1.253 trees/ha. (iv) Species diversity is higher in the poor forest state than in the average forest state.
