Analyzing the economic efficiency and consumption markets of Cinnamon products in Van Yen district, Yen Bai province

The study analyzes the economic efficiency and consumption markets of Cinnamon products in Van Yen district, Yen Bai province and a case study using the method: (i) descriptive statistics, comparative statistics; (ii) annual accounting by the following criteria: Total cost (TC), Gross Output (GO); (iii) financial efficiency analysis through the following criteria: Net present value (NPV), benefit/ cost ratio (BCR), internal rate of return (IRR). The research results show that the model of Cinnamon cultivation with a business cycle of 20 years had a total cost (TC) of 293.48 million VND / ha; Gross output (GO) reached 1,466.4 million VND/ha; Net present value (NPV) is 294.17 million VND / ha; Benefit / cost ratio (BCR) is 3.37 times and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is 38%. Thus, it can be seen that the Cinnamon model has brought high economic efficiency to forest growers. Products from cinnamon such as: cinnamon bark, powder, essential oil... are mainly exported to countries: Taiwan (China), China, Korea, Japan, India, America,... through 03 main distribution channels, from the growers to the final consumers
