Abstract

Grey-shanked douc langur (Pygathrix cinerea) is one of five endemic and endangered primates in Vietnam, with limited distribution in the South Central and Highlands provinces. Hon Do is one of four distribution areas of Greyshanked douc langur in Tam My Tay commune, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province, with about 18 - 19 individuals living on the area of 10.58 ha of the poor primary forest. The Grey-shanked douc langur population is living in a very small area and isolated with other populations by acacia forest planted by local people. This study has identified feed ingredients and activity time of
Grey-shanked the doucs. In term of feed ingredients, at least 09 species of flora belonging 7 different families were food of doucs, in which, young leaves were mostly used acounted for 54%, following by mature leaves (40%) and shoots (6%). The Grey-shanked douc langur population at Hon Do living in herds with active time during the day was from 5:30 to 17:30. Regarding activity time, the douc spended the most time for moving (33.5%), eating (30.1%), rest (25.8%), social  activity (10%) and other activities (0.6%). The main threats to the Grey-shaked douc langur at Hon Do were hunting and loss of habitat
