Abstract

This study conducted a multifactor experimental investigation to evaluate the effects of pressing parameters, including pressing temperature (130, 135, and 140°C), pressing time (70, 80, and 90 min), and adhesive spreading rate on the surface of peeled veneer (130, 150, and 180 g/m²), on selected physical and mechanical properties of bamboo - wood plantation timber container flooring. The flooring was manufactured using an alternating layered structure of flattened Luong bamboo strips and peeled Acacia mangium veneer. The evaluated properties included moisture content, density, static bending strength (MOR), and modulus of elasticity (MOE) in the longitudinal and transverse directions, in accordance with GB/T 19536-2015. The results showed that the pressing parameters had a significant effect on the MOR and MOE of the flooring. The optimum processing conditions were determined to be a pressing temperature of 135°C, a pressing time of 80 min, and an adhesive spreading rate of 150 g/m². Under these conditions, the flooring achieved adequate mechanical strength and met the technical requirements of GB/T 19536-2015 for container flooring.
