CURRENT STATUS OF DISEASE OF URBAN TREES IN HOAI DUC DISTRICT, HANOI

Tree species have been planted in urban areas to ensure landscape and environmental standards. However, some diseases have reported on urban trees in Hoai Duc district, Hanoi, Vietnam. This study aimed to evaluate the incidence and severity of damage caused by pathogens and negative human impacts on the trees in Hoai Duc. The results showed that branch drying, leaf blight, heart rot, and wilt disease have caused damage to urban trees in Hoai Duc, in which branch drying and leaf blight were common in many tree species. Acacia hybrid, A. mangium and Chukrasia tabularis trees planted on Thang Long Highway had a low disease incidence (P% = 5.5 - 25%), but all were affected by wilt disease. Trees planted on Road #32 and Road #422 were very commonly affected by branch drying and leaf blight (P% = 15.4 - 100%; R% = 5.8 - 62.5%) and were affected by human negative activities. Urban trees in the Nam An Khanh showed healthy growth and were almost unaffected. To manage the diseases, it is necessary to identify the pathogens and appropriate control measures. In addition, it is necessary to limit negative human impacts on the plants.
