Cunninghamia konishiiHayata is one of the rare species, a high economical
value and listed in the endangered species. Wood colour is pale yellow,
medium density (0.4-0.5 g/cm3
), the grain is straight and beautiful. This
species has a distinct aroma. Growing rings are distint, hearwood and
softwood are difference. The rays are narrow, mainly one cell seriate in
width, and heterogeneous in height. Perforations between tracheids and
tracheids are simple and border perforations, between tracheids and rays are
simple and no border perforations with 1-3 bars and a few pits in in a cell
cavity
