Vietnam has been involved in the process of sustainable forest management and forest certification since 1998, but until December 2020, only nearly 220,000 ha of forests from 49 forest owners have been certified with FM. The reason for this process is still too slow compared to the potential of Vietnam's forest resources, because besides the opportunities for this process, there are many difficulties and challenges facing the forestry sector in Vietnam: awareness and capacity, policy mechanisms, finance, technology... Therefore, the forestry sector in Vietnam needs to have integrated and synchronized solutions to achieve the goals set by the sector strategy, which is to ensure sustainable forest management, including financial, technical and organizational solutions, especially policy systems related to sustainable forest management and certification
