EFFECT OF POST-PLANTING FERTILISER AND LIFT PRUNING ON THE GROWTH OF Cinnamomum balansae H.Lecomte PLANTATIONS IN BAC GIANG PROVINCE

The study was conducted to evaluate the impact of post-planting fertiliser and lift pruning techniques on the growth of Cinnamomum balansae H.Lecomte plantations in Dong Con 1 village, Tan Lap commune, Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province. The results showed that post-planting fertiliser and lift pruning techniques initially had a significant effect on the growth of C. balansae at tree age 16 and 21 months, in which post-planting fertiliser with 200g of NPK fertilizer (16:16:8)/tree applied 2 times/year, pruning up to 1/3 - 1/2 of the tree height were promising technical measures. At 21 months after planting, in promising formulas, C. balansae achieved a high survival rate (93.3 - 95.2%); DBH ranged 5.1 cm and 5.4 cm; total height reached 3.7 m; canopy diameter between 2.6 and 3.1 m.
