Guideline for contributors

General requirements. Scientific articles published in the Journal of Forestry Science must meet the following requirements:

The paper has not been submitted for publication in any journal.

Publication of the article must be approved by all co-authors as well as by relevant authorities (if any). The journal shall not be held liable if any claim is made.

Authors who wish to cite figures, tables or text that have been published elsewhere must obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) for both print and online formats and include proof. give that permission to the journal when submitting your article. Any article received without such evidence will be deemed to have originated with the article authors.

Large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, do not currently meet our criteria. It is worth noting that attribution of authorship carries with it accountability for the article, which cannot be effectively applied to the LLM. Use of the LLM must be accurately documented in the methods section or in an appropriate alternative section of the paper.

    • The article must be written in Vietnamese or English, no longer than 15 pages (A4 paper size, Times New Roman font, font size 12). Unified terms according to the Vietnam Encyclopedia; Foreign words remain original, abbreviations must be annotated before use. Use italics for emphasis. Use the automatic page numbering function to number pages. Do not use field functions. Use tab or other commands for indentation, not the space bar. Use a table function, not a spreadsheet, to create a table. Use the equation editor or MathType for equations. Save your file in docx format (Word 2007 or later) or doc format (older Word versions).
    • Footnotes: footnotes can be used to provide additional information, which may include a citation of a reference included in the reference list. Footnotes should not only include a reference citation, the bibliographic details of a reference, and should not contain any figures or tables. Footnotes to articles are numbered consecutively; Those tables should be denoted by lowercase superscript letters (or asterisks for significant values ​​and other statistical data). Always use footnotes instead of endnotes.
    • Scientific style: please always use internationally accepted signs and symbols for units (SI units). Genus and species names should be italicized. Please use standard mathematical notation for formulas, symbols, etc.: Italics for single letters representing mathematical constants, variables, and unknown quantities; Roman/vertical for numerals, operators, and punctuation, and commonly defined functions or abbreviations, for example: cos, det, e or exp, lim, log, max, min, sin, tan. ..; Bold for vectors and matrices.

 

Scientific articles published in Vienam Journal of Forest Science need to be presented in Microsoft Word software, A4 size, double-sided alignment, Times New Roman font, font size 12, single line spacing. Authors are recommended to use the following journal layout and format:

Title (presented in Vietnamese and English): The title must be concise, clear, accurate and truthful to the scope and content of the article and summarize the main idea of ​​the research. Article titles should not exceed 20 words and please use no more than three title levels displayed. Article titles must be written in Vietnamese and English.

Abstract and keywords: The content of the summary should be presented in the form of a paragraph (not divided into headings). The summary must not exceed 300 words, but must highlight the focus of the article, written in Vietnamese and with an English translation. The abstract must not contain any abbreviations or unidentified references.

For each research paper, the author also needs to provide a maximum of 6 keywords separated by commas.

Problem statement: The content of the Problem statement section should present the research problem, current solutions and limitations as well as expected contributions. The research objective must be mentioned in the Problem statement section.

Materials and Research Methods:The content of the materials and research methods section should be presented in as much detail as possible. In particular, the raw materials section must have full information about the unit providing the research sample.

Results and Discussion: The Results and discussion sections can be combined or separated depending on each specific case.

Conclusion: The content of the Conclusion section should summarize the presented results as well as expand, give suggestions, and propose future research directions (if any).

Acknowledgments Acknowledgments should be placed immediately after the Conclusion and before the References.

References: Listed at the end of the article are arranged in A - Z order. Cited documents should be provided with DOI codes (if any) and presented specifically as in the following example:

3. Cite references

Documents are cited by stating the author's name and year of publication in parentheses (); If there are 2 authors, use a comma (,), if there are 3 or more authors, write the first author + et al., year, for example: (Nguyen Van A et al., 2013). When putting the author's name in a sentence, change the sign (,) between the two authors to the word "and", replace the phrase "et al." by the phrase “and co-authors”, year in parentheses; for example: Nguyen Van A and Pham Van B (2013), or Nguyen Van A and co-authors (2013).

4. Presenting Figures and Tables

Images (including drawings, photos, graphs, diagrams, charts, etc.) must be placed in the correct position in the content of the article, must be scientific, ensure quality and aesthetics, and be placed correctly. position in the article, with symbols annotated;

Figure and table names must be brief and informative; The image name and serial number must be written below the image; Table names and table order are written on the table.

Images used in research should have a minimum resolution of 300 DPI.

5. Conflict of interest: Any conflicts of interest (if any) of all authors and co-authors in the study must be mentioned. If there is no conflict of interest, the author should also state “No” in manuscript.

6. Ethical statement: Information regarding ethical issues is required for human and animal research. Ethical statements (if any) must be mentioned in the Materials and Methods section.

7. Processing and publication fee: Vietnam Journal of Forest Science applies a processing and publication fee of 75 USD/article.
