In this article, 132 standard plots (OTC) were established in 3 villages in Quang Binh province (49 OTC in Co Trang, 72 OTC in Phu Minh and 11 OTC in Ca Roong 2 village) to study some important structural characteristics of community forests. Accordingly, structural factors: forest composition (Important Value Index - IVI%) and biodiversity index (species richness, Shannon index, Simpson diversity index) are focused on research using current methods. The results show that the community forests in the research sites are in the process of well recovery, and the tree species composition is quite diverse with typical tree species of the region. At the forest in Co Trang village, the two species Chua and Tau have the highest IVI% among the 10 dominant species appearing in the composition formula. Tau species has a high density and IVI%, in Co Trang village it is 42 trees/ha and 20.5%; in Phu Minh village it is 59 trees/ha and 32.2%. Meanwhile, in Ca Roong 2 village, Tram species has the highest density and IVI% index (reaching 116 trees/ha and 37.7%). Research results on biodiversity indicators show that community forests in the study area have high species richness and relatively high species diversity index, especially in Co Trang and Phu Minh villages.
